Cox's Bazar District is an administrative region in the Chittagong  Division in southeastern Bangladesh .  The total area of ​​the district is 2491.6 sq km.  According to the 2011 census, the total population of Cox's Bazar district is 22,69,990, males 11,96,08 and females 10,92,912.  The population density is about 920 people per square kilometer.  (Statistics 2011)

According to the religion, 93% of the total population of the district is Muslim, 5% Hindu and 2% Buddhist and other religions.  The distance of the district from Dhaka is about 402 kilometers and about 143 kilometers from Chittagong divisional headquarters.  It is bounded on the north by Chittagong district, on the east by Bandarban district, Naf river and Rakhine state of Myanmar, and on the south and west by Bay of Bengal.

The rivers flowing over Cox's Bazar district are Matamuhuri river, Bankkhali river and Reju canal.  The Naf River flows along the Myanmar border
